History:

Why does he need two wikis, OUAT wiki? WHY.

Hatter wiki
Jefferson wiki

Personality:

Jefferson can be fairly single-minded. Focused and obsessive. When he has his mind on something, he can and will be utterly focused on just that particular thing. Be it an object he needs to retrieve, someone he needs to convince of something or his daughter. Being obsessive made him a very, very good father to his daughter, until it didn't and he found himself trapped in Wonderland after Regina was able to trick him into helping her.

But being the way that he is can also be a very bad thing, it eats away at his sense of right and wrong. An example of this would be when he agreed to help trick Regina and send her down the dark path. While he did seem to have a good enough time doing this, he later seemed to regret it. He knows the difference between right and wrong, but sometimes he manages to go down the path of wrong.

It's unlikely that he's obsessed with money, or anything like that. He was married to Grace's mother even as he worked for Regina and Rumplestiltskin, and when told to take "as much gold" as he felt something he retrieved for Rumplestiltskin was worth, he took a fairly conservative about. Just enough, it seems, to take care of his family.

He can be very bitter and cynical and he can be colorful and outgoing. It all depends on what he's trying to do. When he's on his own, he tends to be more regretful and manic. Before he comes to New Dodge, he's very focused on making a hat, making one that works.

Sometimes, he's all of these things at once and more. The denizens of Wonderland don't call him the Mad Hatter for nothing.

Jefferson is a very talented liar, and this is probably something that he'll fall back on more than once in New Dodge. He can be wreckless, doing things without really thinking of the consequences until it's too late. Portal jumping without really thinking about whether or not someone might be upset that he's doing this in their world. Helping someone trick someone else, not realizing that sending them down a dark path may very well come back and bite him on the ass later.

He is also very adaptable, he'd have to be in order to not stand out in the worlds he's traveled to. He can adapt and he can act. Play like he's not crazy, play like he's not a father, like he isn't alone. Play a role and make things seem real. He also holds grudges like mad (ha). An example of this would be when Regina tricked him, again, into helping her with a promise that she would do something for him. When she did not hold up her end of the bargain, he made sure that something she did not want getting out got out.

He is very loyal, is our Hatter. If he cares about you, if he loves you? He wants to impress you, and what's more? He wants you to have whatever you desire. And he will help you get it.

And if he doesn't like you? Watch out.

Why do you think your character would work in this setting?

He has personal experience with traveling between dimensions. He'd certainly be interested in this. Why would he agree to sign up for six months? Also, he was in New Dodge before! Technically, he is just coming back after spending about oh. Twenty eight years in Storybrooke. Where is is trapped. Again.  But at least his house is bigger! SO, when Eli finds him AGAIN, it would yet again be an opportunity he couldn't pass up.

Especially since maybe, just maybe, he can eventually get his daughter here.

What will your character do for work?

He will find a new location in the merchant dome for his hat shop, and he'll also go back to searching the marketplace for magical trinkets, probably attempting to keep them out of the hands of people who would not know what to do with them or do...ire works with them.  But it's Jefferson, so he could certainly be swayed towards making a living doing this for the right sort of uh...deal.
